The goal of the project was to take an in-depth look on the rule of law conditionality within the next Multiannual Financial Framework of the EU (2021–27) which is still under discussion together with the Recovery Plan. The current days (early December 2020) showed that this tension will not go away among member states.

The project aimed at widening the public debate in Slovakia when it comes to one of the most important issues in the current European Union – what is at stake with the rule of law (and other values, on which the EU is based) in member states, how it affects the foundations of the European integration and trust among the members of the European community. We were able to get a representative of the Foreign Affairs Ministry who, for the first time to our knowledge, publicly explained Slovakia´s position in detail.

The project was primarily targeted at national stakeholders of the discussed topics. All project activities were published on www.europolicy.sk and also on the website of media partner – www.euractiv.sk.

The project activities run from 15 September 2020 to 15 December 2020 and are carried out by o.z. EuroPolicy, in cooperation with the Prague Office of Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung.
